Formation of the red army military units and divisions on the basis of the universal compulsory military service in 1918 (on materials of Simbirsk province)

In the paper the historical essence of transition in recruiting of young Soviet Russia Armed forces from the voluntary principle to the principle of the universal compulsory military service is researched. Difficulties and complexities of the given processes are revealed on the example of activities of military management bodies of Simbirsk province.
