The article discusses the features of the social structure in the context of transformation of the modern Russian society. The relevance of the topic is determined by the constant change of the social structure in the Russian society due to the economic and political specific features of the country. Particular attention is drawn to the formation of class structures. The author used secondary analysis of various sources and documents for the study. It has been found that certain instability is typical for development of a new social structure, since there is a blurring of traditional social groups and development of new types of inter-group integration according to ownership forms, income, involvement in power structures, social identity.
