Formation of the legal basis of the procedural activities of advocate in civil proceedings in the Russian Federation

Purpose: To show the formation of the legal basis of the procedural activities of advocate in civil proceedings in the dynamics of changes in the law on the bar and determine their target direction. Methodology: The authors used methods of analysis and synthesis, as well as legalistic and comparative approaches. Results: The article shows the dynamics of changes in certain aspects of the legal regulation of the procedural activities of advocate in civil proceedings by analyzing the material of changes and amendments to the law on the bar. It is established that changes in legislation aim to regulate only two aspects of procedural activity in civil proceedings: advocate’s inquiry and the self-regulation within the advocate entities. The incomplete nature of transformations of the regulatory norms on the lawyer’s request and the internal corporate set of standards of advocate activities is also shown. Novelty/originality/value: The article has a certain scientific value, as it offers a new definition of the direction of changes in the law on the bar and the procedural activities of a lawyer in civil proceedings.
