Formation of a sustainable development management system for packaging industry companies: ESG transformation and circular economy

The article examines the issues of forming a sustainable development management system for packaging industry companies in the context of ESG transformation and transition to a circular economy. The relevance of the study is due to the strengthening of environmental requirements, changing consumer preferences in favor of eco-friendly packaging and the need to adapt business models to the principles of sustainable development. The purpose of the study is to develop a comprehensive approach to the formation of a sustainable development management system for packaging industry enterprises based on ESG principles and circular economy. The work uses methods of system analysis, economic and mathematical modeling, scenario forecasting and expert assessments. The key drivers of ESG transformation of the packaging industry have been identified, barriers to the transition to a circular model have been determined. A conceptual model of a sustainable development management system has been developed, including mechanisms for assessing the environmental footprint, product life cycle management, and the development of circular business models. Practical tools for implementing the principles of circular economy in the activities of packaging industry enterprises are proposed.
