The article deals with the evaluation of educational achievements of schoolchildren. Also disclosed and justified the problems of modern assessment in the school. In addition, an introduction to the practice of formative assessment is considered. Research on this problem is offered, the purposes and tasks are outlined, the hypothesis is defined.
