Chechen forms of marriage in the 19th - early 20th century

The research deals with the specific features of wedding rituals of the Chechens, determined by the ethnic and the historical peculiarities of the region in the 19 th - the early 20 th century. The article is based on the ethnographic field materials. The author reviews the main marriage forms and their specific features. The wedding ceremonies of the Chechens and other nations of the Northern Caucasus are compared.
