The paper is focused on the issue of the identity crisis caused by the process of globalization. To denote the current mode of identity crisis, the authors introduce a new concept of “fragmegration of a man". The purpose of the article is to identify the essential characteristics of human fragmegration. The objectives of the study are comparative characteristics of different modes of the identity crisis and identification of the features of fragmentation of a man. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that a new concept of “fragmentation of a man" is introduced, which is defined as the state of a person in which different identities consistently coexist. It is emphasized that these identities are not opposed and are not hierarchized, since they perform different functions. It is noted that fragmegration does not exclude, but assumes a holistic self-consciousness of a person. It is concluded that the optimal solution to the problem of the identity crisis can be found only in a long process of self-determination of each person. Consequently, attempts to rapidly introduce or impose new identities, as well as attempts to preserve the old ones by any means, are equally unjustified and unfounded.
