The article deals with the notion of functions of journalism. Corporate press is characterized by a set of functions different from the corresponding ones of traditional mass media. Being guided by the works of researchers and practitioners the author distinguishes dominant functions and emphasizes that modern corporate press is mass media on the one hand, and PR device on the other hand; as these mass media editions are a guide of corporate culture, they aim to maintain harmonious relations between the staff and management; provide feedback for employees, and inform the audience about their own activity.
