Functions of the memory of physical and psychological pain

The article is devoted to the problem of pain memory functions and the study of differences in these functions depending on the type of pain: physical and psychological. The article discusses the theoretical foundations of the allocation of memory functions of pain, the problem of psychological pain as a kind of pain experience and the possible specificity of its functions relative to the memory of physical pain. The results of an empirical study of the functions of pain memories carried out on the basis of self-reports, during which the memory functions of pain called by respondents were systematized, are presented. In addition, a comparative analysis of the severity of the frequencies of these functions was performed depending on the type of pain presented in the memory.
