Consumption functions in the life of households: analysis of economic thought development

This article analyzes the works of foreign and domestic scientists in the domain of the role and place of households in economic system and the classification of their functions. Based on this analysis, the author gives her own definition of the household and the consumption function, and makes an attempt to determine the specifics of the households in the modern world.
