Functional literacy and employability

For the first time, the International Adult Literacy Survey was conducted in a developing country in 1998 in Chile. The survey measures the effective skills of the population over 15 years of age in understanding and processing words, documents and quantitative information on a continuous scale of productivity. This article analyzes the link between literacy and employment opportunities for men between the ages of 15 and 65.
