Functional role aspects of administrative activity of middle managers in the modern Russian society

The article discusses the basic functions of middle-level managers in modern Russian society, their attitude to their occupation and job satisfaction, as well as analyzes in detail the types of middle managers and their possible roles in the management process. The paper presents results of the research conducted by the author in 2013, according to which there have been distinguished five groups of middle managers according to their values, life goals, attitude and ways of life strategies realization: altruists, selfish idealists, materialists, workaholic realists, and freelancers.
