The article provides data on functional condition of respiratory system of 69 patients with malignant lymphomas before high-dose chemotherapy with autologous peripheral stem cell transplantation. It was revealed that 1/5 of the patients included in the study had the initial decreased parameters of respiratory function. Analysis of the impact of some clinical variables on the parameters of spirometry was conducted. The abnormality of lung tissue and mediastinum detected by CT correlated with reduced vital capacity. Other variables (stage of disease, the number of the lines of pre-transplant chemotherapy, chemotherapy with bleomycin, radiation therapy) had no impact on the assessed parameters of spirometry.
