Functional and main technical requirements for the device indicating the phase load and overload of the electric generator

Asymmetry of currents and voltages is one of the reasons for the decrease in the quality of electricity and the reliability of power supply to rural consumers. Its presence is due to the fact that the electrical receivers of rural consumers are mostly single-phase. It is almost impossible to achieve their uniform distribution across phases. This problem also makes a negative contribution to the reduction in the service life of electrical equipment, especially electric generators used for backup power supply to rural consumers. Asymmetry leads to mechanical vibration and rapid overheating of the generator rotor. The problem is aggravated by the fact that the low-power generators used in the considered case are not equipped with devices for monitoring and indicating phase loading and overload. The operator servicing the generator does not see the problem with asymmetry or overload in one of the phases until it leads to shutdown by protection or failure of the generator. Therefore, the task of creating means for monitoring and indicating phase loading and overload of electric generators is relevant. To do this, first of all, it is necessary to develop requirements for such devices, which is done in this work.
