Functional guidelines in the activities of the bodies of inquiry for the implementation of the investigation

The author considers the powers of the officials of the bodies of inquiry in accordance with their participation in the production of investigative actions, the main elements of the legal status of the heads of the bodies of investigation of crimes of the internal affairs bodies. The legislator does not define the concept of “legal status”, but the analysis of materials and literature allows us to conclude that the main elements of this concept include: the rights of the head, the duties of the head, the requirements for official behavior, restrictions and prohibitions related to the service, the responsibility of the head, etc. The functional guidelines of the procedural management of the investigation are considered as a result of the activity of the heads of the bodies and departments of the inquiry, as well as their role in the system of criminal procedure and in the practice of investigating criminal cases.
