The functioning of state category words in languages of different structures

The article deals with the problems of functioning state category words in languages of different structures. This category of words is considered from the standpoint of functional-semantic fields. Functional-semantic fields are the national realization of conceptual categories, that’s why it is possible to speak about functional-semantic fields of the Russian, the Buryat and other languages. Constructions forming functional-semantic field of state in Russian and Buryat, the centre and peripheral zones of state category are described in the article. We have summarized the issues of status and scientific interpretation of the words related to the category of state in Buryat Studies and studied lexical, morphological, syntactical characteristics of state category words in the Buryat language. It is proved that the ways of expressing the category of state in Russian and Buryat have both differences and simularities.
