G. V. Vernadsky in Perm University: 1917-1918

The article is devoted to the daily life and professional activity of a famous Russian historian G. V. Vernadsky during the period of his life in Perm. From September 1917 till August 1918 he was a professor of Perm University. In Perm G. V. Vernadsky participated at the discussions of the Society of historical, philosophical and social sciences. Besides he was the editor of the issue of the Society. In Perm he wrote and published two articles on this issue. One of them - «Empress Catherine II and the Legislative Commission 1767-1768» has been devoted to the discussions about rights of Russian nobles, first of all ˗ the right of possession of serfs. The second article «N. I. Turgenev's Letter on peasants` question of 1859» has also been written in Perm. G. V. Vernadsky made the analysis of the historical document, simultaneously characterizing its maintenance and a creation context. Everyday life of the historian in Perm was in the conditions of creation of the Soviet state and Bolshevist terror. In Perm G. V. Vernadsky had deep spiritual transformation that was connected with the strengthening of his faith. G. V. Vernadsky's departure from Perm was connected with the necessity of rescue from bolshevist terror.
