Bolshoi theatre’s tour through the prism of the American press

The article is focused on the American media coverage of the Bolshoi Theatre’s tour. The main aim of the article is to show that the Bolshoi Theatre’s tour became not just one of the elements of intercultural communication (what is quite natural for cultural events), but also became a kind of cultural code through which Americans identify not only Russian culture, but the country as a whole. In this regard, the article analyzes the publications of the main US printed media dedicated to the tour of Bolshoi Theatre, makes conclusions about the tone of publications and the degree of interest of leading American publishers to this cultural event.
