Soviet theater tours around Chelyabinsk in the thaw era (based on local periodicals)

The authors investigate the 1953-1963 periodicals on the tours of various Soviet theaters around Chelyabinsk. Based on data from Chelyabinsky Rabochy newspaper, the number of publications on town theater events has been revealed; a list of productions, interactions with audience, and the schedule of touring theaters have been identified as well. The research is based on the content analysis. This study is the first to describe the theater life in the period under review based on the local daily newspaper. In addition to the quantitative study of materials, the content analysis of publications of different genres is carried out. It shows qualitative changes in the theater life of the province during the Thaw era.
