Hegemony and political discourse in contemporary international relations between Russia and Europe

Globalization, internet technologies and free market made a basis ground in a cultural common sense for cosmopolitan imaginary. On the other hand it provides a world with a new challenges - common problems such as world economic crisis, ecological issues and terrorism. This paper focuses on the problematic field of mutual understanding between European and Russia during crisis period. I argue that countries may overcome common crises only in cooperation but never along. Using methods which usually associated with discourse analysis (Laclau, Mouffe) this paper address main issues of political and public discourses to bridge internal or national and external or international challenges together in cosmopolitan imaginary. The paper concludes with discussion of emerging problems and tentative prognosis.
