Helminths of Passeriformes and Coraciiformes birds from the Samarskaya Luka

Helminthofauna of birds is investigated for the first time in territory of the south of the Middle Volga region. 31 species of parasites is registered in birds of orders Passeriformes and Coraciiformes from the Samarskaya Luka: Trematoda - 13 species, Cestoda - 9, Nematoda - 8, Acanthocephala - 1. Acanthocephalan Prosthorynchus gracilis is registered for the first time at birds of Russian fauna. Trematodes Brachylaemus fuscatus and Mosesia аmplavaginata are marked for birds for the first time in the Middle Volga region. New hosts are specified for 2 species of parasites. For everyone helminthes species is underlined its systematic position, localization, a circle of hosts, features of biology, geographical distribution, a degree of specificity of the parasite, parameters of extensiveness and intensity of infection.
