Problem and Purpose. Dairy cattle farming have been actively developing in the last decade. The number of Holstein cows is increasing every day, so it is important to work on their improvement. Milk productivity depends on the quantity and quality of milk, so there is an interest in increasing milk yield and fat content. Genotyping helps breeders determine the genetic potential of animals and identify first-calvers that are carriers of desirable alleles for use as parental pairs. Methodology. The tetraprimer PCR method was used for DNA amplification of first-calvers. The analysis of amplification products was performed using horizontal electrophoresis.
