Gender inequality and low birth rate in South Korea: from tradition to modernity

The purpose of this article is to examine gender inequality in the Republic of Korea, which is based on Confucian ideology deeply rooted in people's minds. Attention is paid to the measures of the government and social movements of the country aimed at achieving equal rights and opportunities for Korean women in modern conditions. We are also talking about the problem of low birth rate in South Korea, which was the result, on the one hand, of a high level of economic development and high living standards of people, and, on the other hand, of the still existing patriarchal foundations in the culture of society.
