Gender peculiarities of the ideas about love in preadult age

The article discusses the gender peculiarities of the ideas about love of higher school students depending on their major subjects (humanities, engineering and sports). The research distinguishes three types of love: realistic, romantic and pragmatic. The majority of respondents show preference to the realistic type of love. Both boys and girls have equal number of positive ideas of love, as for negative ones, the boys have almost 5 times more of them than the girls. The boys show a tendency for the romantic type of love and have no pragmatic attitude, unlike the girls.
