The gender dimensions of violence against women in Afghanistan today

Violence, unfortunately, is an integral part of society'' development. A comprehensive study of domestic violence that existed in the past and still persists in some families has been currently carried on. In view of this, efforts to solve these problems are recently activated. They are often related to the search for ways to overcome such gender inequalities as violence against personality. Domestic violence against women as the subject of studies presents a scientific interest, for both foreign and domestic researchers. In this paper an issue of domestic violence is determined by the roots of violence against women in modern Afghan society. The author points out that the gender inequality is premised on cultural, social and religious patterns forming the basis of domestic violence in Afghan society. Also he notes the constructive part women play in developing the modern Afghan society.
