Gender approach to investments in reproduction of human capital

Today, the concept of human capital is an extensive area for gender research, as it offers the opportunity to make gender relations within the family visible within the framework of economic discourse and can help in building a new family policy. At the same time, the initial stage of accumulation of human capital is practically not considered - its formation and development at the household (family) level, and in fact at this level the basic qualitative characteristics of human capital are laid through the birth and upbringing of children. A distinctive feature of the reproduction of human capital at this level is that children are the main object of investment in human capital, and parents play a central role in the accumulation of children's human capital. The article discusses the impact of the family on the early development of children, the impact of various parents' resources on the reproductive process of human capital, and indicates the gender approach to analyzing investments in the reproduction of human capital. The research results prove that in the family it is the woman who is the key agent of this investment. It is proposed to develop a mechanism for creating favorable conditions for the reproduction of human capital in the family.
