The general directorate for internal security: “political barriers” in the activities of the French intelligence service

The article scrutinizes the anti-terrorist activities of the General Directorate for Internal Security, defines its basic directions (counterintelligence, economic and industrial safety, combating organized crime threatened national security and fight against terrorism and extremism). The author analyzes the impact of democratic control on the French intelligence service.
