Genetic investigation of the Microtus genera grey voles in the territory of the Jewish autonomous region

With the help of genetic characteristics it was shown that the two species of grey voles - the Maximovich Microtus and the Fortis Microtus - are widespread in the territory of the Jewish autonomous region. The Maximovich Microtus had not been observed in the Bastak reserve before. According to our data, now this is a dominant species inhabiting a wet sedge meadow at the border of southern and southwest parts of the «Bastak».
