Genesis and evolution of the flax industry

The flax industry is one of the first technical and economic complexes in the history, which began to be created by eminent Russian entrepreneurs in pre-revolutionary Russia on the basis of the use of English flax spinning machines and linen looms and was finally formed in our country in the 60-70s. XX century, when the production of not only domestic flax-textile equipment, but also agricultural equipment was established, ensuring the effective cultivation of flax, its primary processing and processing. The article raises the problems of scientific research in the field of flax industry and considers the conditions for introducing their results into production. On the example of the Kostroma region, as the most typical region for our country, where the flax industry has received the greatest development, its dynamics and destruction are shown in the hope of reviving the mechanical engineering that produces flax equipment that can function efficiently at a qualitatively new level and create competitive flax products above world standards.
