Genesis of moral damage in domestic jurisprudence

The author considers genesis of legal norms concerning moral damage and its compensation, analyses contents of the Russian-Byzantian contract of 911, Russian Truth, various Codes, Laws, Codes of Laws of the Russian Empire and other sources to identify norms concerning moral damage, which according to the contents are the most approximate to modern understanding of the category moral damage.
