The use of vegetation mapping for the study of the post-eruptive vegetation dynamics is discussed. The consequences of the catastrophic eruption of Tolbachik volcano (1975-1976 yrs.) and the successional trends in the vegetation cover structure of the plateau Tolbachinsky dol were studied.
