The author of the article draws the readers’ attention to the geographical aspect of the life of Prince Alexander Yaroslavich, whose life to this day remains of interest of researchers. The consideration of the events in the life of St. Alexander Nevsky through the prism of historical geography is pushed by his numerous diplomatic trips, of which the trip to Karakorum, military campaigns, and the prince’s nickname itself, which refers to a specific geographical place, stand out. According to the author, the study of the geographical aspect of the life of Prince Alexander Yaroslavich is an urgent research task that can lead to applied results, for example, the creation of a series of thematic historical maps, a thematic geographic information system (Web-GIS), the reconstruction of individual episodes of the life of the prince, and, finally, the development of research within the framework of the concept of “places of memory”.
