Geographical indication as a new means of individualization

This article discusses a new means of individualization, such as a geographical indication, its introduction into Part IV of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation. Identified similarities and distinctive features with the appellation of origin. The prospects for the enforcement of this means of individualization, the impact on intellectual property in general are analyzed.
