Currently, road design in practice is limited to describing natural conditions and human economic activity, characterizing the geographical environment only from the qualitative side: "areas with normal conditions for the complexity of the construction of a forest road, areas with conditions of increased complexity, areas with particularly difficult conditions." It is obvious that the classification or similar assessment of the natural conditions of road construction does not solve the problems associated with the fulfillment of economic, technical and environmental requirements that are imposed on modern roads. A comprehensive study of the geographical environment for road design provides opportunities to increase the profitability of design solutions, improve capital investment planning methods, and ensure the rational use and protection of natural resources. This article discusses geoinformation support for the tracing of logging roads.
