The state of geological and geophysical knowledge of the northern lands of the Volga-Urals oil and gas province is considered. The modern trends of the resource base of hydrocarbon raw materials in area are traced. Positive and negative moments of developing of oil and gas branch on lands of Perm Krai, Republic of Udmurtia and Kirov Region in the past 10 years are marked.
