The article studies the typology of international systems and describes them in brief. The author focuses on the study of bipolar, unipolar and multipolar systems, which determined the complex structure of international relations between states in the XX and XXI centuries. The paper describes the state of the modern system of international relations developing in the framework of multipolar world (since 2010). Particular attention is given to the relations of the US and China. The author forecasts possible increase in the value of nation-states in the world economy and politics.
