The article deals with the hermeneutic approach to the analysis of K. Paustovsky’s aesthetics of nature. We have applied H.-G. Gadamer’s hermeneutic aesthetics to interpretation of the writer's works. Three philosophies are taken as a basis: the first is Kant’s and Gadamer’s aesthetic theory about genius and perception of appreciation, the second concerns the comparison of a natural masterpiece and a masterpiece in art, the third is Gadamer's famous postulate about productive prejudices and involvement in the cultural and historical tradition. We widely illustrate the theoretical propositions with quotes from K. Paustovsky’s works. The main literary source is "Meshcherskaya Storona". As a result of the hermeneutical interpretation of the writer’s aesthetics of nature, we have come to the conclusion about the dialectical balance and aesthetic self-worth of natural landscape and verbal landscape. And also we have stated the heuristic significance of K. Paustovsky’s natural philosophy in the context of modernity.
