Modern theory and practice of management is dominated by the natural science approach, which separates the subject from the object, as well as strives to eliminate from the research any individual feature of the object in order to determine general laws. However, organization is a phenomenon of the human spirit, and not of nature, an ideal structure created as a result of consensus between stakeholders about the common object they are thinking about, the same way as mathematical sets produced. As long as organization is created by the consciousness of stakeholders, their knowledge becomes a managed object. This ambivalence is the key feature of any management problem, and only can be dealt with by means of hermeneutics - the science of understanding. In this article the hermeneutic perspective in managing organization is explained in terms of the subject’s immersion in the world, and the opposition between the subject and the object.
