The article focuses on structural and compositional aspects of biomineral interactions within the mineralized living forms of hydrobionts Chara contraria A. Braun and cyanobacteria Nostoc pruniforme Ag. ex Born. et Flah. from the karst lakes of Timan. The data were derived from complex mineralogical, physical and chemical investigations. The mechanisms, factors and conditions, contributing to carbonation of charophyta algae, were observed.
