Hydro-geological transformations during building and using the airport "Magadan" (northeast of Russia)

Airport "Magadan-Sokol" is put in operation about 50 years ago. It is the largest on northeast suburb of Russia. The airport territory is in the intermountain hollow which has entered a stage of substance accumulation, therefore all engineering actions corresponding to this stage, lead to acceleration of hydro-geological processes connected with accumulation of underground waters and ices on the area of airdrome, accompanied by rebounding, formation of icings, deformations etc. Engineering decisions counteracting a course of natural processes, cause such phenomena as internal erosion, covering deformation, washout of slopes, etc. For timely revealing and prevention the negative hydro-geo-ecological situations it is necessary the organization of hydrogeological and engineering-geological monitoring.
