The article provides a hygienic assessment of the actual nutrition of students of the Medical Institute of the National Research Mordovia State University. The study results are based on the analysis of anonymous questioning of 253 students. It is revealed that the diet of students is not rational, the structure of food is represented mainly by carbohydrates and fats, there is a lack of protein, as well as vitamins and trace elements. In the examined group of students, the risk of developing alimentary-dependent diseases is high.
