Agriculture belongs to the life-supporting systems of society, forming its food resource, the state of which determines the country's national economic security. In addition, it acts as a basic industry for the development of rural areas, since it largely provides for employment of the rural population, its standard of living, vector of demographic processes, etc. Under the “embargo” on agricultural products, raw materials and food from the countries of Europe and America, all regions of Russia should, using their entire production potential of the agricultural sector, annually increase the growth rates of production of their products, especially the one for which there is a demand for domestic and foreign trade. foreign markets. One of the main branches of agriculture is animal husbandry. This industry is entrusted with one of the most important tasks of the food security of the Novosibirsk region, the production of various types of meat, but the production of beef is constantly decreasing. The main reasons for the decline in beef production in the region are considered and proposals for increasing production volumes are formulated.
