The article considers globalization and regionalization as factors in the development of regional interstate economic integration unions (groupings, associations, partnerships). The author reveals the directions of the influence of globalization and regionalization factors on the development of regional economic integration unions of modern states. The macroregional, mesoregional and microregional directions are distinguished. Particular attention is paid to the macro-regional direction, within which a continental section is given of the functioning of modern regional interstate economic integration unions, associations, groups, partnerships. As a result of the analysis, the author comes to the conclusion that under the influence of globalization and regionalization, modern regional interstate economic integration unions (groups, associations, partnerships) can be transformed into intercontinental or transcontinental interstate economic integration unions (groups, associations, partnerships). However, the opposite tendency is also strengthening - “deglobalization” (“trampetism”). In that regard, it can be stated that the formation of intercontinental, or transcontinental interstate economic integration unions (groups, associations, partnerships) is a not so close prospect for the development of the world economy.
