Globalization of culture as a cultural and historical challenge

The article deals with the social and cultural mechanisms of cultural globalization. Globalization of culture is a process of cultural unification in the form of its modernization that involves several countries and national cultures. The author suggests that functioning of globalized “cultural nuclei”, which facihtate cultural modernization in their areas, relies on the process of acculturation that incorporates the patterns of a donor-culture into the pattern system of a recipient-culture. Globalized nuclei of the worldwide culture are interrelated by the process of cultural exchange via cultural transmission that correlates with the coherent laws of ontology of being.
