Globalization of culture: problems and prospects

In the article, based on the analysis of the basic concepts of globalization of culture (cultural globalization), an attempt is made to consider the positive and negative processes of global cultural world development, as well as the possibility of creating a global world culture in principle. The author comes to the conclusion that the existing theories of globalization of culture have a pronounced ideological character. If globalists are convinced of the inevitability of this process and see it as the only possible positive development of human history, moderate and skeptical authors indicate that globalization of culture is impossible, primarily because of the phenomenon of localization (glocalization) associated with the rejection of western globalization modernization - both economic and cultural.
