Globalization: socio-political aspects

The article analyzes a political constituent of globalization. Studying the activity of some main global institutions and organizations (multinational corporations, U.N.O., International Monetary Fund, and others), the author comes to the conclusion that the political mechanisms of global processes mainly support economic processes in their specific course. Special attention is paid to the interaction of political and economic structures by relations of public authorities and leaders of major international corporations. The specific political role of the western countries as subjects of global processes is determined. The main conclusion of the author is that the political dimension of globalization is as important as the economic one.
