The article analyzes the key challenges facing Russia in the context of rapid digitalization of the global economy, politics, and social life. The authors examine global trends in digital transformation, such as the development of artificial intelligence, big data, the Internet of Things, and their impact on the competitiveness of national economies and national security. Particular attention is paid to issues of digital sovereignty, cyber threats, and the need to build technological independence in strategically important sectors. The paper examines the problems of uneven access to digital technologies in the regions of Russia, a shortage of highly qualified personnel, and the adaptation of national legislative regulation to new realities. The authors propose comprehensive measures aimed at overcoming existing challenges, including the development of innovative infrastructure, investment in domestic IT developments, international cooperation in the field of digital security, and the improvement of educational programs. The authors emphasize the importance of building a long-term digital development strategy that will ensure economic sustainability and strengthen Russia's geopolitical positions in the era of digital competition.
