The article describes the metatheory of global evolutionism, the main direction of modern post-non-classical philosophy, in the scientific field of library science. The article considers the evolutionary teaching of sh. R. Ranganathan, the founder of the evolutionist approach, in the discussions of foreign and domestic librarians. The article presents the methodological development of the theory of "global evolutionism" both in the training programs of post-graduate students of the state system of scientific certification, and in dissertations on the subject of HAC 05.25.03 (library science, bibliography and book science). The prospects for the study of the open library system in the paradigm of global evolutionism in the areas of self-development of systems, decentralization of management and emergency management, information competition, determining the unit of social information and multi-variant information and social actions within the scenario approach are determined.
