Goluboe salo of language. Vladimir Sorokin's meta-lingual utopia

Бесплатный доступ

The metaliterary, and wider - metadiscursive character, was typical of Vladimir Sorokin's creative works from his very first texts, gradually spreading from various types of Soviet discourse ("Norma") to "verbal genres" (M.Bakhtin) of Soviet ordinary life ("Ochered"), having reached in the end the canonical language of Classical Russian literature ("Roman"). The assessment of the metalingual work as consistent criticism of the language and discourse, finding a place for Sorokin's works in the conceptualist tradition (even if it asserts the radicalization of its foundations) seems more and more inconsistent. An attempt to show another possibility of the interpretative perspective is the subject of the article.
