The horizons of using event analysis in sociology

This article is devoted to methodological problems, namely, the possibilities of using the «event analysis» method in sociological research. The expansion of the methodological apparatus for increasing the number of tasks performed in sociology is important for science. The example of the analysis of the Libyan conflict (2011) describes the event analysis, demonstrates its capabilities. Coming from political science, this method allows to study the chronology of events, classify them according to the characteristics specified by the researcher, etc.
